It is impractical to replace the bearings in these units because it calls for special tools and equipment that its not cost effective to buy. If the water pump is bad a new one can be had for less than $30. Crank pulley failure is a common issue on MINI Coopers built between 2002 and 2006 and with a mileage above 75,000.
